Description
Provides emergency medical care to patients in the pre-hospital environment in accordance with established medical protocols. Ensures assigned emergency vehicles and equipment are in an acceptable state of readiness always. Provides safe and effective care and transportation of assigned patients. Also may participate in life safety programs, community awareness programs, and other programs as assigned. Schedule is subject to change at any time to accommodate operational requirements.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provides pre-hospital emergency and Non-emergent medical care at the EMT-B, EMT-Intermediate or Advanced practice level
- Required to answer calls in both the 911 markets as well as in the IFT market.
- Ensures vehicle and equipment are in working order
- Collaborates with partner
- Provides exceptional customer service
- Maintain knowledge of AmeriPro EMS Protocols and all departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains established departmental metrics.
- Oversees the safety and training of new hire employees and third riders as assigned.
- Visually and manually checks assigned EMS unit and equipment for functional readiness upon reporting for duty.
- Accurately completes patient information on billing sheet and marks charge code according to the service provided.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the department’s Standing Orders and applies said orders appropriately when indicated.
- Demonstrates expertise in the use and application of all EMS related equipment.
- Cooperates with ancillary departments and agencies to assure continuity of care and completion on any investigation of illness and/or accident.
- Uses appropriate levels terminology/language when communicating with patients, families, physicians and co-workers.
- Replenishes expended supplies/equipment and sanitizes ambulance after each use.
- Assists with daily station duties and other special details as defined by the Standard Operating Procedure.
- Operates emergency vehicles in a safe manner in accordance with applicable local, state and federal laws.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma
- Valid Georgia driver’s license
- MS Licensed EMT-B, EMT-I or EMT-A license
- BLS provider
Preferred:
- Trauma and pediatric course provider
